Aquo Fixative is a water-based primer with high penetration power on deteriorated substrates, specifically designed to regulate absorption and fix interior and exterior surfaces in poor condition or powdery.

It is formulated with 100% acrylic resins, so the product does not yellow over time unlike fixatives formulated with acrylic-styrenic copolymers. Thanks to the use of 100% acrylic binders, aquo fixative provides excellent adhesion and consolidation of all types of primers that, due to their poor strength, do not offer guarantees for repainting.

In addition, its high solids content reduces the absorption of irregular substrates, allowing more uniform finishes to be obtained and optimizing the yield per square meter of subsequent finishes. Aquo fixative can also be used to improve the adhesion and shine of satin or glossy paints on previously applied matte paints.

Likewise, Aquo Fixative is suitable for fixing marking lines during the layout of the work.

Fields of application

aquo fixative can be used in those situations in which it is necessary to prepare cement, plaster, perlite, tempera, lime bases… etc. prior to the painting process.

How to apply

Before applying Aquo Fixative, the surface must be clean, dry, free of dust, dirt or any other contaminant or treatment that may compromise the correct performance of Aquo Fixative. Likewise, surfaces that show chipping and loose particles must be suitably prepared by sanding or brushing to achieve a healthy support.

Next, apply Aquo Fixative with a brush, short hair roller or foam, diluting with up to 4 parts of water according to the following indicative dosages:

Surface fixing: Dilute aquo Fixative in water in a 1:2 to 1:4 ratio and apply the mixture on the substrate making a correct wetting. In some cases, two coats may be necessary, (the second always less diluted).

Improved adhesion: To improve the adhesion of a new paint on a previously painted and/or glossier background than that of the paint to be applied, sand the surface until it is nuanced and, subsequently, apply Aquo Fixative dissolved in water in a 1:3 to 1:4 ratio.

Fixing of stakeout lines: Spray the pure product on the line to be fixed.
