Desmol is an elastomeric coating that can be cross-linked at room temperature specially developed for the treatment of metal trays commonly used in bakeries and bakeries. It is based on RTV1 silicones and cures by the action of humidity present in the environment.

In this way, the product, once cross-linked, provides a non-stick surface on treated surfaces, facilitating the demoulding process and optimising subsequent cleaning tasks. Desmol complies, once cross-linked, with the conditionality imposed by FDA regulation No. 21-CFR-1772600. That is, all substances contained in the Desmol formulation are authorised for direct contact with food.

Desmol has a high durability. It is water and moisture resistant and also has excellent mechanical resistance. In addition, the coating is stable in the temperature range of -55 to 260ºC, withstanding peaks of 360ºC. Based on these careful properties, Desmol maintains its non-stick behavior for up to 2000 baking cycles.

Likewise, the studied rheology of Desmol allows its application in a thin layer, optimizing its performance and being economically more viable than other oil- or fat-based release agents. In addition, its high covering power ensures a homogeneous pigmentation of the treated surface.

Fields of application

Desmol must be used in all situations where a non-stick coating that can come into direct contact with food and is going to be subjected to baking processes. For example, bakeries, pastry shops, bakeries… etc.

How to apply

Desmol is supplied ready to use, so it does not need to be diluted. Before application, the surface to be treated must be completely clean, degreased, free of traces of other products or treatments and completely dry.

For a better finish, it is recommended apply Desmol by spraying it with an airbrush gun or airless equipment, as follows:

  • Insert Desmol into the equipment and adjust the outlet pressure to obtain a fine and homogeneous spray.
  • Next, apply a first coat of Desmol, letting it dry for 1 hour.
  • After this, apply a second coat of Desmol, perpendicular to the first, letting it dry for an additional 1 hour.
  • Next, bake the treated surface for 1 hour at a temperature of 220ºC to remove any solvent residues.

Do not deposit food on the surface treated with Desmol without having completed its cross-linking by baking.
