Molds are organisms that are neither plants nor animals. They are part of the fungus kingdom. Humid and warm conditions favor their growth.
Mold is a natural phenomenon that appears in very humid environments, normally after prolonged rainfall, damp areas, poorly lit spaces…
These fungi adhere to organic matter, feeding on it by breaking it down chemically. They can grow on practically any type of material such as wood, walls, textiles, tiles, plaster, food or paper.
Depending on the degree of surface porosity, it can influence more or less how rapidly they spread across floors, walls, roofs… Once the surface is infected, these plant organisms spread quickly.

The most common molds are Cladosporium, Penicillium, Aspergillus and Alternaria. Molds can be various colors: black, white, green (known as algae)…
Green mold or algae usually appears in areas near trees or cultivated land. Algae appears when water is absorbed by the clay tile and retained in its interior cavities, while from a climate perspective, the area is not very sunny or well ventilated.

Mold produces “spores” that are invisible but float in the air and can survive in different environmental conditions, causing health problems. One of the most common issues is allergies caused by inhaling its spores, causing irritation in the respiratory tract, throat or eyes. Other known symptoms include: Cough, fever, headache, skin irritation… Other severe reactions may include fever and difficulty breathing.
Mold and algae appear on their own, but you need to help them disappear because they won’t do it by themselves. To do this, we have a mold/algae range where you can find Cleaners and Mold and Algae Removers.
There are two types of products: one based on quaternary ammonium with a sanitizing effect and another based on chlorine with a bleaching effect.
The best action is prevention. For this, there are paints with fungicidal agents that inhibit moisture and mold, especially recommended for humid environments or those subject to condensation, which prevent the formation of mold and algae stains.
Remember that mold can be harmful to your health and that of your family—solve the problem as soon as possible.
